The Gauntlet: Arena System BETA (Cosmic Edition) PDF Release!

Happy Halloween, all!

This is a quick update to announce that the special "Cosmic Edition" of The Gauntlet: Arena System has been sent out!

As announced in my last update, I am expecting the birth of my son any day now! 😁 So I'm glad to get this award out, since it is the final one that all backers will receive.

The last pieces remaining now are the Cosmic Minions & More supplement, and then the Self-Print Monster Cards, which I will be getting out as soon as I can (pending busy-ness of #DadLife!).

Expanded Dragon Apprentice Ranger PDF Release! (+ Status Update)

Hi all! Here's an exciting one every backer can enjoy:

The Expanded Dragon Apprentice Ranger!

This contains the Dragon Apprentice subclass, mostly as presented in the Cosmic Dragon Breviary, with a few additions:

• The inclusion of "Divergent Dragon" options for your Dragon Advocate (Aberrant Dragons, Dracolisks, Dragon Turtles, Skeletal Dragons, and Wyverns)
• Fully fleshed-out statistics for each dragon wyrmling option for your Dragon Steed (A total of 52 stat blocks!)
• Some really cool new art!

Again, this reward was unlocked as a Stretch Goal for *all backers*, so check your inboxes for the email to download it!

In the Pipeline...

This now leaves three final pieces remaining for the Kickstarter: the Cosmic Minions & More PDF supplement, the Self-Print Monster Cards (PDF/PNGs), and the special Cosmic Edition release of The Gauntlet: Arena System PDF.

I will likely try to crank out The Gauntlet PDF next, because I think I can get that one done the quickest. Which is important because I have a BABY due in about 2 weeks. A real human child that I can't wait to meet. 😁

Needless to say this past year has been exceptionally busy and trying in many regards (as it has for most), and it likely isn't getting easier soon. But I assure you I am truly working my hardest to get everything out to you all ASAP. So thanks for your patience as I get these last pieces out to everyone.

The Gauntlet PDF is the last reward that goes out to everyone who backed the campaign. Then after that I will be working on finishing up the Cosmic Minions & More supplement, which has the next most people waiting on receiving it. Then finally, the Monster Cards.

If I had to estimate a realistic time frame for these with how busy I anticipate I will be with #DadLife in the immediate future, I would say The Gauntlet PDF should be out in a week or two (barring an early arrival from Baby), the Cosmic Minions & More supplement should be ready around late-November. And the Monster Cards should be available around late-December/early-January. I hope to beat these estimates, but I'd rather overestimate here than undershoot it and leave people hanging.

Draconic-Language Edition release! (and General Update)

Hi folks! It's been a while since the last update, and there's still a few pieces in development that have yet to be released, so here's the latest going on!

Draconic-Language Edition

The special Draconic-Language Edition—which was available as an add-on and included in the "Phantasmagorical Backer (Draconic+)" pledge level—is out! All who ordered the PDF of it should be receiving an email that their download is available, and physical print editions are being printed and should start shipping out within about 2 weeks!

If you missed it and would still like to order, it's not too late to get it before they ship out! Just head on over to the store and grab it, and I'll make sure you get included in the shipment!

Other Pieces in Development

That leaves just four final digital pieces remaining for release: the Cosmic Minions & More PDF supplement, the Self-Print Monster Cards, the special Cosmic Edition release of The Gauntlet: Arena System, and the Expanded Dragon Apprentice Ranger PDF.

As of right now, it's looking like the next thing coming will be the Expanded Dragon Apprentice Ranger, which was a perk for all backers, so that's something we can all be excited about. 😁 Most likely after that will be the Cosmic Minions & More supplement (which I know many of you are anxiously awaiting!), then The Gauntlet PDF, but those two could possibly switch places as things unfold. And lastly will be the quick reference, Self-Print Monster Cards!

In the interest of providing a realistic timeline for release, I plan to have all of these completed and in your hands by the end of the Summer at the latest (hopefully sooner!), which will put a neat little bow on getting everything out within 1 year of the Kickstarter's initial launch!

I know it's taken a fair bit longer than I originally intended for getting these last pieces out, so genuinely, thanks for being patient with me. Read This Update If You Want to Potentially Get a FREE BOOK

First off, Happy New Year, all. 😁 I hope your holidays have been a joy thus far.

1) If you ordered a Kickstarter-Exclusive (black cover) edition of the book, I have some news regarding a potential print defect that could get you another book, printed and shipped to you, for free!

2) If you have received your book (any book), please thoroughly check it for any issues (e.g. book arrived damaged, missing pages, extra pages, other printing errors). If you have any issues of this sort, send an email to [email protected] and we will get you a new book, ASAP!

So what's this about a print defect?

It came to my attention that many (at least 100, possibly several hundred) of the ~650 Kickstarter-Exclusive books printed in the first print run have a slight printing error: a thin, horizontal white line across every interior page, about 2 inches from the top. Example for reference:

Now on pages where this line is simply over the parchment texture background, it's almost entirely unnoticeable, however on any page where there is art in that portion of the page (which is about half the book), many of you may find this faint line cutting clear across the page.

Free Reprints!

The printer has agreed to reprint any books that have this issue, FREE OF CHARGE! Again, this was an error by the printer in many of the Kickstarter-Exclusive books specifically. For anyone who discovers this defect in their book, please send an email to [email protected] with the subject line: Breviary Print Error.

You must clearly identify your name in the email matching your backer name from the project, and you must attach photos of the print error present in your book, following these guidelines:

• Take a digital photo of the entire page under good light, with the book on a white background.
• Take a separate close-up photo, clearly showing the print defect on one of the pages.

If you do the above, you will receive another book, for free. Don't know what you'd do with another book? Give one to a friend! Share the love! Spread these cosmic dragons far and wide! 😁

I know the error is fairly slight, and some may not even mind it, but I want these books to be as perfect as possible for you all. You supported me, and you deserve the absolute best final product. So please contact me for a free book if yours has this issue.

There may also be more coming about a drawing to give away some of these books that had this error, for free. Stay tuned!!

Books arriving. PDFs out. Let’s Party!

The Final PDF of the Cosmic Dragon Breviary (including Stretch Goal content) is now available for all backers! 🥳 You should be receiving an email notification shortly that your download is ready.

There are two versions available for download: one is the full, high-resolution PDF, the other is the optimized, mobile-friendly PDF. The high-res PDF is ~116 MB and is recommended for viewing on a desktop or laptop. The mobile-friendly PDF is ~28 MB and is recommended for viewing on mobile devices.

Both PDFs are bookmarked and linked for easy navigation. You can click anywhere on the Table of Contents to jump to that page, and you can click the page number at the bottom of any page to jump back to the Table of Contents.

We have also confirmed that physical books are indeed starting to arrive! I am so excited to finally get this into your hands, friends. I am beyond words thankful for the support from each and every one of you. I hope this book meets and exceeds your expectations. 😁
